UPCOMING RACEDAY EVENTS
Manawatu Racing Club - Central Region Ford Dealers Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes Raceday, Saturday April 3rd
Its Awapuni's biggest raceday of the year as New Zealands leading two year olds come to Palmerston North for the 102nd Group One $200,000 Central Region Ford Dealers Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes. There will also be exciting racing action with the Group Two $85,000 Lawnmaster Awapuni Gold Cup, Group Three $70,000 The Oaks Stud Manawatu Classic and the leading sprinters will be out in the Listed $45,000 Fairdale/Goodwood Stud Flying Handicap.
Also there will be exciting action in the fashions with The Plaza Fashion of The Field. Ladies we will help preview the latest fashions on Wednesday 31st March at the Cosmopolitan Club (flyer attached). For an entry form and conditions please click here
So mark this down April 3rd as a day you have to be at Awapuni. With Good Friday being April 2nd you should be all rested up for a big day of racing at Awapuni.
RACEDAY FACILITIES:
SILKS LOUNGE: The Silks Lounge is part of the new $8.6M Function Cen
tre built at Awapuni in 2008. This Lounge has the ability to sit 450 people on raceday or may be set up in theatre style and sit 700 people. The Lounge gives panoramic views of the racecourse and allows you to go outside on the balcony and sample the entertainment and atmosphere on raceday as well as amazing views of the birdcage and racecourse. Raceday packages will be available most racedays at Awapuni in the Silks Lounge unless Sponsors requirements do not allow this.
MARTON,FEILDING & RANGITIKEI BOXES: situated alongside the Silks Lounge these modern new boxes can comfortably hold 40 people per box. If required the dividing wall between the Feilding and Marton Boxes may be folded back and 80 people can be accomodated. Boxes are available to be hired on raceday when not required by raceday sponsors.
MANAWATU ROOM - situated in the Members Stand this room is situated just past the finishing line. This room can comfortably hold 100 people on raceday seated and proves a popular facility on the course. On raceday the room allows the horses to be viewed in the birdcage as well as first class veiwing of the racing action. The room has its own bar facilites as well as tote facilities.
AWAPUNI LOUNGE - this is situated on the first floor of the Members Stand and is available to the Members and all Owners, Trainers and officials on racedays. Seating and bar leaners are available in the room as well as tote facilites and bars.
