AWAPUNI TRACKWORK Thursday, March 19 By RON GURNEY Kellys Inspiration and Love Potion took the time honours during a quiet gallop session at Awapuni this morning. All fast work was on the plough (good), where Kellys Inspiration and Love Potion were paired over 800m in 50.8, the last 600 in 38.4. Kellys Inspiration has not raced since finishing a creditable fifth in the Lowland Stakes at Hastings last month behind Jennifer Eccles, Loire and Showbeel. She is expected to step out at Manawatu on Saturday week. Original Gangster covered 1000m in 1.6.4, the last 600 in 38.9, while Bradman (by Pins) and Kapinos went 800m together in 52.6 and 38.2. Bradman, who has placed in two trials, debuts in the maiden two-year-old at Tauherenikau on Sunday. Blue On Black, preparing for the Awapuni Gold Cup on Saturday week, worked alone over a steady 1000m in 1.11.4, the last 600 in 40.7. Canucia, who looks a big improver for the maiden 1400m on Sunday, had Colorado Miss alongside over 1000m in 1.13.1, the last 600 in 42.5. Colorado Miss will run in the Waipukurau Cup (r65 2200m) next Thursday Riverton visitor Feel The Rush, third in the NZ Oaks last Saturday, did a quiet round and a half before increasing the tempo slightly to run 800m in 57.2, the last 600 in 42.7. Her stablemate Lightning Jack, who finished third in the Wellington Guineas the same day, did similar work, finishing with 1000m in 1.14.5, the last 600 in 44.3. Both horses will race at Manawatu on Saturday week.
