 Norwood Farm Machinery Centre City of Palmerston North Gold Cup Ford Fiesta Car Give Away Terms and Conditions 

1. All Entrants (“Entrants”) who participate in this Competition (the “Competition”) are deemed to accept these terms and conditions of entry. Entries that do not comply with these terms and conditions will be deemed invalid and Race Inc takes no responsibility for such entries. All times given in these terms and conditions are references to New Zealand Local Time and all references to currency are referring to New Zealand Dollars. 

2. The Promoter of the Competition is Race Inc. The New Zealand Racing Board (orTAB) excludes any and all liability, that cannot be excluded by law, whatsoever todo with this Competition.  

3. The Competition Entry Period opens at 9.00am 28 February 2018 and closes at 5.00pm 27 March 2018 (the “Competition Period”). 

4. To be eligible for entry into this Competition, an Entrant must: 

- Be eighteen (18) years of age or over from the time the entrant first participates in the competition during the competition period.

- Be located in New Zealand. 

5. The following persons are not eligible to enter the Competition or win the Prize:  

Board members, employees, agents (and agent’s employees) and contractors of the New Zealand Racing Board (NZRB) and the “Immediate Families” of such persons.  

“Immediate Family” of a person being the parents, siblings, children and spouse or partner (whether legal or de facto) of that person (and “Immediate Families” shall have a corresponding meaning); and Any “excluded customer” of the NZRB (being a customer who has self-excluded from the NZRB’s products, as well as any customer who has been excluded by the NZRB).  

Competition Entry  (TAB Outlets only)

6. To enter this Competition, an Entrant must place one (1) single bet of ten dollars ($10) or more at any of the Participating Retail Outlets listed under Schedule 1 of these terms and conditions during the Competition Period (a “Competition Bet”). 

7. All Competition Bets must be placed in store at a Participating Retail Outlet through either a Manned Terminal or a Self Service Terminal and any bets placed through a TAB account (i.e. via Touchtone, Phonebet, Online or TAB Mobile) will not be eligible to enter the Competition. 

8. All Competition Bets will be required to be entered into the Competition by the Entrant using the following process.  To enter a Competition Bet into the Competition, an Entrant must

(a) Place a valid Competition Bet in accordance with condition 5;

(b) Receive a Competition entry form (the “Entry Form”) from a NZRB/TAB Representative at the Participating Retail Outlet at that representative’s sole discretion; 

(c) Fill out the Entry Form with their name and a valid phone number (the “Completed Entry Form”); and place the Completed Entry Form in the Harness Jewels Prize Draw Entry Box which will be located on the counter in the same Participating Retail Outlet that the Competition Bet was purchased (the “Competition Box”).  For the avoidance of doubt, it is the Entrant’s responsibility to request an Entry Form. 

9. An Entrant will receive one (1) entry into the Competition at the relevant Participating Retail Outlet for each Completed Entry Form that they validly place into the Competition Box in accordance with condition 7, during the Competition Period (“Competition Entry”). 

10. There is no limit in relation to the value of a Competition Bet, nor is there a limit in relation to the number of separate Competition Entries that a Entrant may have at any Participating Retail Outlet 

Key Draw  (TAB Outlets only)

11. At the completion of the Competition Period, there will be three (3) random draws at each of the Participating Retail Outlets listed under Schedule 1, by a representative designated by Race Inc., from each Participating Retail Outlet’s Competition Entries (the “Key Draw”). The Key Draw will determine the Key Winners. The final decision in respect of any Key Draw or Key Winner will be at the sole discretion of Race Inc and no correspondence will be entered into. Each Key Winner will be deemed a finalist for the purposes of the Key Contest.  

Key Contest 

12. A further fifteen keys (15) will be won in other competitions and events leading up to and including the Courtesy Ford Sire’s Produce Stakes race meeting on Saturday 31stMarch. 

13. Fifteen finalists will be drawn from all competitions running. They will be provided a representative key which gives entry to the Awapuni Racing Centre’s Courtesy Ford Sire’s Produce Stakes race meeting on Saturday 31st March. PLEASE make sure that the contact details you provide are the easiest way for us to contact you. You must include a mobile phone number on your entry form for it to be valid. 

14. All finalists or representative will be required to attend the Awapuni Racing Centre’s Courtesy Ford Sire’s Produce Stakes race meeting on Saturday 31st March – at adesignated time, to participate in the final of the promotion. If the person orrepresentative is unable to attend the Awapuni Racing Centres Courtesy Ford Sire’sProduce Stakes race meeting their entry will be declared null and void. 

15. The fifteen finalists will be joined by three lucky winners drawn from the crowdpresent at the race meeting who have completed the entry form on the day. 

The Prize

16. By 3.00pm on Saturday 31st March 2018, these eighteen (18) finalists will draw at random a car key. One at a time they will try their key to see if it unlocks the Ford Fiesta main prize. Once a finalist has opened the car door they will be deemed the winner and the competition will be concluded. 

17. The remaining seventeen finalists will receive a Magnum of Henkell Trockensparkling wine. 

18. There is one (1) Ford Fiesta to be won. 

19. Once the winner has been confirmed all correspondence relating to handing over the ownership of the vehicle will be the responsibility of the winner and Courtesy Ford. Manawatu Standard will accept no responsibility in terms of anything relating to the main prize except to find the winner. 

20. The vehicle has been used for promotional purposes during the Norwood Farm Machinery Centre City of Palmerston North Gold Cup Festival and as a result may have done more Kms than would normally be associated with a new vehicle. The car has been pre-registered for promotional purposes. 

21. For the avoidance of doubt the Competition Winner will be responsible for all expenses not expressly stated under these terms and conditions, including but not limited to spending money, transfers, travel allowance, travel insurance, meals, drinks, laundry charges, activities, incidents, taxes, service charges, and all other ancillary costs associated claiming the Prize. 

22. If the Prize Winner or their representative is not available to attend on Saturday 31March 2018, RACE Inc reserves the right to withdraw those keys from the draw 

23. RACE Inc is not responsible for any costs, expenses or losses incurred by the Competition Winner or their prize companion, which is beyond the control of RACE Inc and causes further expense to be incurred by any Competition Winner or their prize companion. 

24. The Competition Winner will be announced at Awapuni Racecourse 

25. The Competition winner and their companions agree to be involved in any reasonable promotional activities stipulated by RACE Inc (without compensation), including but not limited to photographs and the publication of the Competition Winner’s name, place of residence and any images. RACE Inc will own the copyright in any such images and photograph(s) and in all material incorporating the photograph(s) or film. 

26. The following persons and their immediate family (parents, siblings, children and spouse or partner (whether legal or de facto)) are not eligible to enter the Competition or win the Prize: Board members, Committee members, employees, of RACE Inc, Courtesy Ford, Stuff Ltd, MediaWorks, Norwood Farm Machinery Centre, The Races, Palmerston North City Council, New Zealand Racing Board (and associated organisations). 

27. RACE Inc reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and entrants and to disqualify any customer who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Terms & Conditions, or who tampers with the entry process or attempts to act in a fraudulent or dishonest manner, as ineligible to participate in the Competition. 

General 

28. To be eligible to claim the Prize, a winner must first agree to the use of his/her name, place of residence, image and photograph(s), by RACE Inc and/or any participating company running this competition, for publicity and promotional purposes, without compensation, and agrees to make himself/herself reasonably available for publicity photographs and filming. Race Inc will own copyright in any such images and photograph(s) and in all material incorporating the photograph(s) or film. 

29. If the Competition cannot be run as planned for reasons beyond the control of RACE Inc, Race Inc reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this competition at any time. 

30. In the event that the car is unable to be won on the day for any reason RACE Inc will advisean alternative event date, time and venue. 

31. Race Inc takes no responsibility for any inability to enter, complete, continue or conclude the Competition due to equipment or technical malfunction, Acts of God or otherwise. 

32. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, Race Inc and any person in connection with this Competition are not liable for any direct, indirect, special or consequential loss or damage whatsoever suffered or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with: 

- participation in this Competition; 

- the Prize or use of the Prize; and 

- the administration of this competition and distribution of the Prize. 

33. Failure by Race Inc to enforce any of its rights under these Terms & Conditions at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. 

34. All entrant personal details must be valid and up to date and will be held by Race Inc and may be used for the purpose of the Promotion and for future promotion and marketing purposes including promotions from Courtesy Ford, Stuff Ltd, MediaWorks, Norwood Farm Machinery Centre, The Races, Palmerston North City Council, New Zealand Racing Board [participating organisations]. 

35. Race Inc may on occasion also match or combine the personal information that you provide when entering this Competition with other personal information about you that Race Inc has obtained from other sources or that may already be on RACE Inc records, whether that information was collected online or in physical form. 

36. Pursuant to the Privacy Act 1993, you have the right to view the personal information you have provided when entering this Competition. You may also request to review and correct any of that personal information by contacting the Promoter. Additional rights may apply under applicable law.
