The locals are out in force as you wold expect on there home track for our big jumps day:

THE GREAT GURU (Trainer Lisa Latta) ran a good race for third on the flat here two and a half weeks ago. In the second he steps up over teh hrudles a role he placed in last year. He has been schooling very well at Awapuni adn loves wet tracks. Gary Wash will ride.

RINGO (Trainer Mike Breslin) ran a top race here for second in the Rnagitikei Gold Cup when carrying topweight. he then went to Wanganui and was close up when running fourth behing Tomeillia beaten just 1.6 lengths. He has the top weight to carry again but will have stable apprentice Danielle Hirini claiming the two kilos bringing his weight down to 58kg. He could be hard to hold out in the seventh of the day.

CAPE DU JEU (Trainer Gary Vile) was impressive when retuning to the winners circle here at the end of the month. She won very easily that day by four and a half lengths. She is still in the same rating band in the last of the day and has to carry an extra 2.5kg. However that should not stop her and she should be hard to hold out. Robert 'the Pope' Hannam will ride.
