RWellington races this weekend where Awapuni has light representation:

PRINCESS AMELIE (Trainer Lisa Latta) iwas sent out second favourite on debut and put up a brave effort to be runner up on debut at Wanganui. She jumped and led that day before going down to What A Smasher by two and a quarter lengths. With that raceday experience under her belt she shoudl be hard to hold out in the second of the day. She has drawn well at two and has Holly Andrew claiming the one kilo in the saddle.

HEAVENS KEEP (Trainer Lucy Tanner) ran a very good race for fifth in the Taranaki Cup when beaten just over two and a half lengths by Beefeater. He then stepped up to 2000m at Matamata but didnt fire wilted over the final stages to run seventh beaten four and a quarter lengths. On Saturday he is back to the 16000m in the seventh race and meets a far weaker line up. Leah Hemi will do the riding.

RUSTY IN MELBOURNE (Trainer Jeff Lynds) was better when third at Tauherenikau over the 1600m in January. She then ran a big race for third on the last day of the Wellington Cup Carnival behind Piece Of Kate. Last time out at Hastings she charged home for second behing Polzerath beaten just half a length. In the last on Saturday she meets a moderate line up and is capable of going one better.
