Iamishwara took another positive step towards his racing come-back when he worked in brilliant fashion at Awapuni this morning. All fast work took place on the plough (good), where Iamishwara had trainer Tony Kaye aboard over a very smart 800m in 48.6, the last 600 in 34.7. Kaye could not be more pleased with the son of Keeninsky, but was surprised by the quick time.

Manawatu entrant Golden Bay (r65 1500m) and Shocktillyoudrop were paired over 800m in 49.5, the last 600 in 36.7, while Steve Hamill's Sufficient- So Take That filly covered 1000m in 1.4.4, the last 600 in 37.4. She will go to the Foxton trials next Tuesday with a view to having her race debut at Awapuni on Boxing Day. Star Emerald (r65 2100m) and O'Reilly's Dancer (r65 1500m) matched strides over 800m in 50.2, the last 600 in 37.3, while Kolonel Kev and Kamanda Lincoln came up with 50.4 and 37.2. Unraced Savabeel filly Word Savvy, trained by Mark Oulaghan, went alone in 50.6 and 37.1. King Kamada, in Saturday's Manawatu Cup Prelude, and Lincoln Blue worked the reverse way (right-handed) over 1000m and were full of running at the finish, the last 600 in 37.9. Al Munroe left 800m behind in 51.5, the last 600 in 37.7.

Clubs Choice cruised over 800m in 51.5, the last 600 in 38.4, and Tony Kaye's unraced Roc de Cambes colt took 51.7 and 38.2. Lincoln's Sunset and a Shocking filly stable-mate posted 51.7 and 38.1. Garcon Deux sprinted 600m in 38.3, while Stowaway and an unraced Fully Fledged filly stable-mate came up with 38 even. Rod's Lincoln and Silver Hiho were kept to 800m in 53.2, the last 600 in 38.5. Heavens Keep, in Saturday's r85 mile, and Carnaby (r65 2100m) were on terms throughout 1000m in 1.7.8, the last 600 in 39.8, and Irish Whisper (Cup Prelude) went alone in 1.7.5 and 40.7. Luroel was not after time over 800m in 56.1, the last 600 in 40.6, and neither was David Goldsbury's unraced Stravinsky filly, who clocked 56.2 and 40.9. Catalina de Lago (r75 1400m) took 57 even and 40.4, and Shadows Cast 56.3 and 41.1.
