A much improved Dandeedee drew attention to her prospects at the Taranaki meeting on Saturday when she worked in company at Awapuni this morning (Tuesday). All fast work during a quiet gallop session was held on the plough (good), where Dandeedee (by Handsome Ransom) and Master William were paired over a strong 1000m in 1.3.4, the last 600 in 37.8. Dandeedee was unplaced in two starts during the winter and tackles the maiden 1400m on Saturday.
O'Reilly's Dancer, placed third on the first day of the Manawatu Christmas meeting, and Lincoln's Sunset were sent 800m in 49.1, the last 600 in 36.3, while their stable-mates Petite Midas, in at Taranaki (mdn 1200m), and Platinum Valence covered 1000m in 1.3.9, the last 600 in 37.8. Heavens Keep, fourth on the first day at Manawatu, had trainer Lucy Tanner aboard over 1000m in 1.4.2, the last 600 in 37.7, and Kolonel Kev had Johnny Lincoln alongside over 800m in 50.7, the last 600 in 37.6. Deemico (mdn 1800m) and Alarinda (r65 1800m), two more heading to Taranaki, ran 1000m in 1.5.5, the last 600 in 38.1, and a Stravinsky two-year-old filly trained by David Goldsbury took 1.8.9 and 38.7. Star Emerald and Hare Bawl matched strides over 800m in 51.5, the last 600 in 38.3, while Rosetta, unplaced on debut at Waipukurau, and Heisenberg came up with 54.8 and 39.6. Suffign (Sufficient-So Take That), trained by Steve Hamill, left 1000m behind in 1.7.6, the last 600 in 39.2. Taranaki entrants How Perfect (r65 f&m 1400m) and Alcaldesa (r65 1800m) were on terms throughout 1000m in 1.8.7, the last 600 in 39.5, and first-day Manawatu winner Irish Whisper was kept to 800m in 55.9, the last 600 in 41.7.
