Wanganui Guineas day this weekend and Awapuni trained runners are represented in most races:
MACADAMIA (Trainer Grant Searle)
Resumes in the third race of the day over the 1200m which is a distance she has a good record at. Both her wins have come at the 1200m as well as two other placings from the six starts. She has drawn well at two but this may be a disadvantage if they are swinging wide on Saturday.
WAIANA GOLD (Trainer Gary Vile)
Meets a strong field in the 3YO filllies Listed Stakes race but she does have one main advantage over her more favoured rivals and that is recent racing. While only a maidener whe was good enough to run fourth in the Ryder Stakes behind the smart Dating and Zennista. Last time she hit the lien well at Otaki for second. She has drawn in on Saturday which may not be that advantageous but she has placed at Wanganui before which is always a plus. Darryl Bradley will do the riding again and she coudl spice things up with the favourites Smoulder and Extra Explosive.
HOT DEPUTY (Trainer Lisa Latta)
Has come solid in his last couple of runs. Two starts back he was runner up in a Rating 80 at Otaki over the 1600m. He ran into the smart Superturf that day. Last time out he was beaten just half a length when running fourth behind Smart Molly. He made up alot of ground that day and probably wasnt suited being down in the worst of the going. The step up to the 2000m in the last of the day should help and Kelly Myers will do the riding.
Good punting,
